Kim Silverman

Hi, it’s nice to meet you.

My name is Kim. I live in Apex, North Carolina just outside of Raleigh with my husband Chris and our labradoodle Nala. We were both born and raised in Mississippi. In 2017, we moved to North Carolina where we have made our home. Together we enjoy hiking, camping, and nature, which is where I draw much of my inspiration for my paintings.

Oftentimes, when I am working on a particular piece, lines of poetry will come to my mind to accompany the artwork. In this case, I will include these lines along with artwork’s description.

I believe art is one of the most powerful vehicles for transformation. It can facilitate personal transformation as you sit with and view a treasured piece, and it also has the power to transform a space, an atmosphere, and the world around us.

I hope to create art that inspires you, fills your space with beauty, and facilitates an experience with the presence of true light and love.

Thank you for stopping by my shop today. I hope you have enjoyed getting to know more about me and my creative process.

For me creating art is a very spiritual practice. It is both a way of life and how I process the world around me. It is a tool for me to connect to my authentic self and to a higher power. I believe the highest power is God who is the Creator, the source of all things. This Creator is pure light and love. When I am painting, I posture my heart to be a conduit for light and love to move through me, into my art, and into the world.

In my creative process, I prioritize enjoying and receiving from the process over the end result. I endeavor to keep my heart in a childlike state, where I am able to play and be free in my artistic practice.
